DEMOS
Simple as 123 rubber mold and resin casting.
Part 1: Joe Szczygielski - Have you ever wanted to cast your own resin parts
and felt intimidated at the thought? Well, banish your fears. This demo will show
you how to simply make one piece rubber molds and cast your own resin parts at home
using products found at the local hobby shops. So come and join us - bring pen and
paper for notes and tips.
2 piece Resin Casting and Mold making
Part 2: Frank Blonski - A brief overview of how to make a two piece mold and resin
casting. We will explain how to look at your original piece to cast, determining the
best options to create a duplicate piece using silicone rubber as a mold. We will go
from making a mold box, positioning the piece and the use of clay to create the two
halves. We will also give you sources of materials needed to complete your project.
Figure painting 101.
MFCA Grandmaster Jim Johnston will be on hand to give a detailed figure painting
demonstration using oil paints. See Jim exhibit the use of oils on figures, busts
and groundwork in various scales.

Here is a welcoming note
from Justen Hanna, the Show Chairman:
Hello and welcome to the BuffCon 27 website.
IPMS Niagara Frontier is happy to invite you to join us for our 27th annual modeling
convention and contest on April 11th, 2010. It will be held this year at the same great
location, the Knights of Columbus Hall, Father Justin Council on Union Road, Cheektowaga.
As you may already know, our annual BuffCon is one of the largest and best attended
one-day IPMS events. As such, it has been an important part of the modeling landscape in
Western New York for nearly thirty years. With 60 vendor tables and hundreds of models on
display, I can guarantee you a great time spent with some great folks.
BuffCon has been growing and improving annually since it's inception in 1982. For
those of you who have never attended, now is certainly the time to start. This year
promises to be the best yet. For those who are familiar with our show, you know what to
expect, and you certainly will not be disappointed.
This year we have some new vendors, new awards and great raffle prizes. Also, for the
first time in several years, we will have demos (which are FREE!)
So, on April 11th, get down to Cheektowaga for BuffCon 27. Bring models. Bring a friend.
Because that Sunday, the tradition continues!
