Greetings! I hope everyone is enjoying the summer this year. We are now officially two months into the Tony Bartozek
Memorial Model Competition, which leaves those who entered one month to complete your entries. I encourage all who entered
to bring in your finished, work-in-progress or as yet unstarted kits to show off where you're at with it. Remember, you
don't want to let your team members down, lose your Tim Horton coffee card and be branded a modeling "LOSER" for a whole
year ;-)
We have a club sponsored trip to a local car museum coming up, of which 2nd VP Larry Osolkowski will give you all the
details elsewhere in this newsletter.
Last club meeting, we voted to extend the terms of the executive board to two years and have elections in the month of
June. Officers of the executive board until 2016 are:
- President - John Zaranek
- 1st Vice President - Justen Hanna
- 2nd Vice President - Larry Osolkowski
- Treasurer - Tom Faith
- Secretary - Dick Schulenberg
Executive Board members-at-large:
- Frank Blonski
- Ed Button
- Bob Collignon
- Paul Hines
- Brian McFee
- Joe Sczygielski
As always, if you have questions concerning the club please see or contact anyone on the E-Board and we'll be sure to get
it answered.

Model Table Round-up from the June meeting
Cindy Klukowski offers a work-in-progress in the form of a DPM & Walter's kit of a "Theater District" series of buildings
in HO scale. Cindy has brush painted them with Tamiya paints and is adding vines from Woodland Scenics for added realism. She
relates that she really enjoys building them and there's a lot of patience involved with adding the vines.

Larry Osolkowski is showing his Hasegawa 1/24 Yamaha Team Rainey YZR 500 Motorcylce. The kit comes with a die cast fuel tank
and photoetch detail parts. He is using Alclad white primer over grey and etching primers. The die cast parts will definitely need
etching primer in order to get top coats of paint to adhere well. Larry says that the kit does come with a rider figure and thinks
it will be interesting to paint and decal it. He also says he's never done a motorcycle kit in this scale before.
Larry also left some flyers for his blues band's upcoming gig. By the time you read this, you missed it.
New club member Jason Masarik brought in miniatures in the form of Games Workshop 40K and Fantasy. He finished them with the
Citadel line of paints and used drybrushing and stippling for final effects. Jason says he's been painting miniatures since he
was 8 years old and hasn't stopped.

Another miniature freak, Johnny Newman, showed some of his work as well. Artizan Miniatures kit-bashed "Wasteland Hero"
Horror Clix Zombie. Johnny did a bit of kitbashing to accomplish his finished product. He used a mix of Army Painter, P3,
Reaper and Vallejo acrylics. (Sorry, no pictures.)
Tom Mooney showed us his huge 1/16th scale Trumpeter "King Tiger" tank. Tom finished the tank model with various paints
including Model Master enamels, acrylics and lacquers along with Windsor & Newton artist oils. Extensive weathering was also
accomplished to give it that field tested battle worn look. Tom laments that he chose this kit because of its size and
detail, but there is so much detail that will never be seen.
Brian McFee brought us his Testor's QM-9 Ripper, a work in progress.
Michael Martinez shows his work-in-progress, a 1/35 scale German "Bruckenleger IVB" (bridgelayer) tank that is about 75%
complete. Mike says there are some fit issues with the kit itself, and some details would be better served as "cast-in", but
otherwise it's a nice kit.
Jason Wesolowski gave us an update on his Tony Bartozek challenge, The Warhammer 40K Imperial Knight Titan - "Cameron".
Jason added some details in the form of a power sword on the left arm, and extended thermal cannon and a magnetized hip joint.
Jason also his working on a Crimson Fist Dreadnaught for a Warhammer 40K army. He's used some scratchbuilding techniques to
make it busier and also a wide variety of paints. He's drybrushed the model with silver and applied nuln oil.
Bob Raithel is finished with a 1/72nd scale Italeri "Kubelwagen" that was included with the Italeri Gotha glider kit. He
finished the car with Tamiya German Grey acrylic paint followed by a black enamel wash by Humbrol. Bob really had no big issues
with the construction and chose it because "it's so darned cute".
He also has been busy with a recently completed Dragon 1/35th scale SWAT with British SAS figures. The bases were made from
styrene stock and finished with Tamiya German Grey and Citadel Black acrylics followed by drybrushing.
Newly elected Vice-President, Justen Hanna shows us his work-in-progress, the Eduard 1/48th scale German FW-190D-13 "Captured".
So far, he's used Tamiya acrylics on the project and mentions that there was lots of filling and sanding required to get a smooth fit.
He also offers up a Wingnut Wings Albatros D.Va in 1/32nd scale. Justen scratch build engine plugs, wires and plumbing to add
some detail and says there were absolutely no problems with the kit whatsoever.
Eric Hillebrand brought in his now finished Italeri 3 Hundred Weight Chevrolet truck.
Mark Budniewski shows us his "model challenge", the Revell 1957 Chevy. Mark has scratch built several small parts such as the
door handles and visors, improved the fit of the hood and deck lid and plans on building more parts like the windshield wipers.
He says there are some poor fitting parts, but it's nothing he can't fix.
Matt Klukowski is continuing to increase the amount of structures for his HO scale model train layout; in this case, he's
using a DPM building and making it into a bar. He's using Citadel paints and is making the lettering for the building.
Jason Ignatjew shows us his JoHan original issue 1964 Plymouth Fury finished in Model Master Bronze topcoated with a clear.
Paul Hines continues to impress us all with his artwork. This month, he offers up a Pontiac GTO, a Shelby Mustang, a '67
Corvette and a Plymouth 'Cuda. Paul explains that while growing up in the 1960's he saw a lot of muscle cars on the streets
and decided to to a series of them on canvas.
To finish up this month's Round Table of offerings, Bob Collignon brings in his "challenge" subject, the Bronco 1/35th
scale German "Adler" armored scout car. He's using resin wheels, a brass MG13 barrel, and new pedals from stock brass. Bob
states that there are sink holes in the plastic in some very obvious places and the kit instructions are a bit "sketchy" in
some important build areas.
Finally, a few other items on the modeling tables.

Thanks to Bob Collignon for the photography.
