Hello fellow scale modelers!
At this month's meeting, the annual "Tony Bartozek 'I'm Not A Modeling Loser' Contest is officially due. For those of us who agreed to accept this challenge, it may be a time to "sweat it out" at the last minute, or comfortably bring in your completed entry because you didn't wait until the last minute.
I'm proud to say I finished mine a full two weeks early, which is a first for me. In fact, I may even be able to complete a scratch built display base for my entry.
If you are an entrant, and cannot attend the meeting, you are allowed to have anyone drop it off at the meeting for you.
In other news, the IPMS-USA National Convention was held this month in Hampton, Virginia and a few of our members made the road trip. The Hannas (Justen, Samantha and Renaldo), Frank Blonski, Tony Gliszczynski, and Joe Sczygielski will give us all an update on their experiences (and awards!) of this event. I have not attended a national convention myself, but it is being held in Columbus, Ohio next year and that is a "do-able" trip for me.
IPMS Niagara Frontier also sponsored a field trip to the Buffalo Pierce Arrow Museum to the delight of about 30 participants. A big thank you goes out to Larry Osolkowski for handling the logistics of the event. You can check out many pictures taken there on our website or our page on Facebook.
We're going to resume our club demonstrations this meeting. I will show anyone interested in how I apply decals to a model.
